Over the years, the Oscars have expanded their membership, and sought to recruit more diverse members. That's entailed increasing the number of international voters.

Feels a little unfair that other awards shows, like the BAFTAs, will snub American films starring people of color and that's accepted, while the Oscars are expected to cater to everyone.
