Yes, The Writing Revolution and Quill do some things that might appeal to you. You can see about getting an account. You'd have to pay, but I think it would be a good fit.

My kids middle school charter does teach grammar explicitly, and it was all new to him after 7 years at a DCPS elementary.

I am a teacher (not DCPS) and use The Writing Revolution with my students and have seen their writing improve significantly. I really like it because it uses student writing to teach the conventions. My own kids are at a charter and they do teach grammar, but not explicitly using student writing.

Have you tried talking to your teacher/school or looking at the standards or learning units before deciding everyone must be experiencing the same thing because your child is?

They may get a grammar lesson but their actual writing is never corrected for grammar or spelling or punctuation or style.

OP I think the best use of your time is to stay on top of writing assignments and forcing your child to rewrite them correctly.

My oldest is in 5th grade at a WOTP ES and had explicit grammar instruction for the first time this year. It's unclear how developed it will be.

We supplement at home with an old grammar text book that belonged to my MIL.

My kid has learned a decent amount of grammar in DCPS. Mostly in 2nd/3rd grade, with sentence diagramming and learning parts of speech.

I do think they could have done more explicit instruction. However, my kid is a strong reader and actually has learned a lot of grammar "by osmosis." She can tell when grammar is off sometimes even without being able to tell you why, precisely. She does a lot of reading outside of school, though.

Looking for grammar workbooks or online programs to supplement the DCPS late elementary and middle school curriculum. I don't get the sense that DCPS explicitly teaches much grammar in ELA. I would specifically like my kids to learn about sentence diagramming and/or sentence structure and would really appreciate any recommendations for things that worked for families. Also, if I'm wrong and DCPS is teaching grammar by something other than osmosis, let me know! I'd love to be wrong about this.
