One of my kids did acne face picking until we gave him Vitamin K. That included K1 (not just K2). Apparently, it can reduce anxiety. Maybe that will work for hair pulling. However, a word of caution to avoid the K1 if the girl has already started her period.

My daughter (5) started doing it and she is earning a reward (1 point per day) for not doing it. So far it’s working.

My DD did this, maybe for about six months. They'll grow out of it, OP.

Both my daughters did this. One maybe when she was 5 or 6, I can’t remember the age of the other, probably lower elementary. Yes it’s disgusting. But they both stopped eventually. They are both brought and neurotypical. I wouldn’t worry about. Keep her hair short if you can and try not to focus on it. She will forget about and move on eventually. Or some kids at school will tell her it’s gross and she’ll move on

Me too. It was a brief phase in fourth grade. I hope it ends soon for you and your kids.

The obvious is to cut their hair. But likely it'll turn to sucking their shirts or fingers or something else. The bottom line is there is comfort in that action, so if you take away the action and you don't provide comfort, then it could continue to be a problem.

Both of my girls suck their hair. It’s disgusting. It’s so dirty. They do it all day long. My reminders don’t work. I put it up every day but they yank it out of their pigtail and chew it. Any tips to end this bad habit?
