It’s a wonderful school and very rigorous.

Thank you for this. DS is an athlete and being recruited by Carleton, and it wasn't really on our radar before because he was focused on east coast SLACs. It's very helpful to see that it's a mutual peer with most of the schools on his list.

This can put all the rankings talk to rest. Easily fit schools into clusters.

Some examples.

UVA’s mutual peers: Wisconsin, Florida, Michigan, and North Carolina.

Maryland’s mutual peers: Purdue, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, FIU, Rutgers, Michigan State.

William & Mary: Wake Forest.

Brown: WUSTL, Cornell, Georgetown, Penn, Dartmouth, Yale, Harvard, UChicago, Rice, Northwestern.

University of Rochester: WUSTL, Vanderbilt, Case Western, Northwestern, USC, NYU. (Brown chose Rochester, but Rochester did not choose them back.)

This was posted on DCUM before, but when I was looking at schools I searched for different schools’ peer list. However, the IEPEDs can choose a college’s peer list if they don’t submit one. This shows a school’s mutual peer. Hopefully this helps trying to find similar schools.

Something funny I noticed. My alma mater has all the Ivies and T10s listed as a peer… with none listing them back. Ouch.
