A lot of state schools don't read essays. When you are admitting tens of thousands of kids, who cares or has time to differentiate?

OP, a quick google shows that the personal statement is optional (as you know) and that the honors college has supplemental essays.

I saw but thought it might be a mistake. It's odd that the Clemson website doesn't say.

To add, Common App explicitly states that Clemson does not require the personal essay.

There is nothing on the Clemson website, but DD said the Common App indicates no essays are required by Clemson anymore, including no Common App essay. I'm thinking of having DD call tomorrow to make sure. I haven't been paying attention until today when I reviewed her application before she submits. Anyone heard differently?
