If you have to choose one, decide if you're more comfortable with a short or long coat for everyday.

Thanks! I’ve worn my coats for at least 15 years excepting my puffer. I also searched and saw that Alex Mill did a version of the Toteme shorter coat last year and maybe they will again this year.

Both are hideous and expensive. Buy it if you have money to burn.

this is my favorite winter coat:

NP - You ladies are so stylish. I am a plain Jane, with basic tastes and I love this - a good everyday coat that is a little stylish enough not to draw attention to my otherwise lack of style. And as great price at that!

But what color as an everyday coat - the camel or black? Everything I own is some version of black, navy, maroon, gray, and denim :/

I vote both but probably get the first and then a double of the second - which I love

Okay, it's really annoying that the Ami site doesn't have a full picture of the coat. I found another one: https://shopmashburn.com/products/isabel-marant-etoile-limiza-coat-khaki-s78210

If you can pull it off, that's a cool coat. I don't care for the other one, since it seems kind of boring and might run boxy.

I like that too. The reason I think I’m drawn to the ones I posted is because they’re pretty self-styling; more than most coats I’ve seen, they give a little something special in the styling and making it look like I tried to be a bit pulled together. I’m 50+ and feel I need that.

I like both is the original ones you posted, but it sounds like you don’t have a ton of variety in your fall outerwear, so I think these are too styled/specific to not have in rotation with a few others. Also, the toteme one was widely knocked off last year, so I see a lot of dupes of it around, if you care about that?

I really love the second one!

The first one is fine. But I wonder if you'd really get a lot of wear out of it?

Both are nice. I really like the Toteme jacket, but the longer one may be more practical from a warmth standpoint. I need my butt covered to keep warm when it's below 40.

Quince has a dupe of the Toteme coat for much less--$200.

They're both lovely. Personally I think the camel one is extraordinary - the scarf, the embroidery, the color. Love it!

I have very old outerwear that is too tight and too worn. I was thinking about these - I’m generally in jeans, sneakers, and Chelsea boots. If these trigger “yuck” can you please link something better?
