This is the narrative that most want to believe. The truth is we don't know how much it helped from what's been released and one or two year's worth of data.

The visa issues this year might be part of the cause. A lot of Black students at the Ivies are international.

I think it's too early to jump to conclusions. Do we know whether the % of black applicants changed dramatically last year? Do we know whether black applicant yield was consistent with prior years? I know highly qualified black applicants at my DD high school are more discerning about whether they apply. For many of them, the Ivies have lost some appeal.

Yep. Anyone in top private schools saw this in action. White and Asian kids killing themselves to be top5% in the class for an outside chance at Princeton. Just as wealthy and privileged (often more so) black kids skating in with grades in the lower half of the class. In this anonymous setting I can say that it's refreshing that this loophole has closed.

It won’t happen, because it means libs will have to recognize that there are cultural issues that need to be punished in schools and republicans would have to want poor people to succeed for once and actually care about equality.
