Marketing is increasingly relying on data for proving the impact of the marketing, so a good skill set to have is one geared toward data science and analytics. You have to be comfortable enough with numbers to report out or understand how your campaign did.
This is old advice. The AI tools to produce dashboards and even strategic, data-driven insights & recommendations from both large and small datasets are getting better incredibly fast. Most ad platforms have AI and machine learning built in. Meanwhile for the all the hype I see about AI creative, it is still quite terrible.
