Sounds like the curve will be bad if math was not that tough for everyone who took it.

DD said easier but not easy. Still long though and hard to finish.

She didn't have much to say about the verbal.

If the math questions were, in fact, easier than usual then that will mean that missing one question will dock your score by more than if the questions were relatively harder.

btw, I think the Part 1 of the test is important in that it determines your Part 2 test. But the questions don't count for much in your final score. Questions differ in their contribution to your final score. Easy questions don't count for much. Hard questions count for a lot. For those taking the harder Part 2, the Part 1 questions don't hold much weight.

According to DD, the 3 hardest math questions were physics based. So it would be easy if you knew the formulas from physics, which she did. The verbal section followed the practice tests unlike the August SAT, which was a relief.

My kid said the math was way easier than the August test and that there was not as much grammar on English which he loved

This is OP. Yes, understood. I also know that folks can get an easy second module if they do poorly on the first module. I know the fact that she thought it was easy does not necessarily mean she is going to score well.

“ so this was just for shits and giggles.”

Wow! Good for you and your kid.

If it's light (i.e., easy) that's not good. It's curved so it will be harder to score well if everyone found it easy.

How was it? Senior DD says it was “light.” This is her first time taking it. She got a good ACT score last September so this was just for shits and giggles.
