Agree with DR or Cancun. A cruise could be another option if you’re open to those.

AI not scalable in PR. Dominican republic has the cheapest. I like Melia company Resorts in Pinta Cana. Pick a smaller one.

For $8k all in I think you'll need to go to the DR. Even the JW Cancun is almost $1000 a night for 12/24-12/29.

We are going away the week leading up to christmas and prices skyrocket starting the 22nd. Like from $500 to $900 for a 4 star hotel on the beach for two queens.

If he is insisting why isn’t he planning it?

Aruba, Grand Cayman, Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas are easy. St. Martin has an AI. I think St. James Club on Antigua is another AI.

If he is "insisting" maybe he should plan the trip?

Google direct flights to minimize the travel hassle. Start there and let us know what you find and we can help you prioritize islands/hotel options.

H is insisting on a a relaxing vaca over Xmas break. We’ve both been working so much. One tween and one teen girl. Where can we go that won’t break the bank but will still have beautiful serene beaches? AI is ok, as long as food is very good. Don’t celebrate Xmas so can leave Xmas eve or Xmas day, if that would bring down the cost. Ideally don’t want to spend more than $8k all in. I guess 4-5 full days excluding travel days. Any ideas?
