Good to stay on top of things early...pcos person here who had irregular periods my whole life but was not diagnosed until TTC. Needed fertility treatments for both kids. Insulin resistance set in stronger in my early 30s and now take metformin. Cholesterol/Heart issues also become a concern with pcos and aging.

I was thin until my 30s...now average weight-- and didnt have some other features like hirutuism. Struggled with depression/anxiety and feel like my wacky hormones didn't help thos.

Take your daughter to a gyn, OP. If you’re in the area then Dr. Amy Levav and Dr. Diane Snyder in Rockville see young patients.

How do you know its PCOS? What are her symptoms?

How did you determine?

There are a lot of wholistic/dietary things she can do. I think maybe Reddit forums? I wasn’t diagnosed till 30s and wasn’t given much help other than a focus on TTC.

If you could find a helpful endocrinologist? I don’t know how early they might try metformin or a glp-1 med. but exercise, good diet and try Reddit or other online forums.

If you had a teen daughter with PCOS, what did you do? Did she need a GYN, or did the pediatrician handle it? Were there any lifestyle or other medication alternatives to going on the pill? This is new to me… I am worried for my daughter.
