Believe it or not but I am flying in to DC just for nostalgia and I want to recreate my life when I lived there 15 years ago!

The B&N has only recently been reborn at the same spot (it was a Nike Store in between) and last I checked they did not put cafe into the new store.

The old D&D space is now Osteria Mozza, and very in Italian place.

Agree with the recommendations for yellow. It is excellent but tiny place with limited seating.

Thank you!!! I’ll try to maybe shift my visit to Friday morning then

Probably the best casual place in Gtown now. But be prepared for a line.

Yellow is the best. If you go on a weekday morning the lines will be totally manageable.

I am thinking Friday afternoon which isn’t ideal but oh well

Sit downs are fine if you know what you want, order it fast, and ask for a check the minute the food arrives.
They will hardly come and check on you at sit downs once you have paid already. That's my trick if I want to be left alone for 40-50 minute meal.

Oh man I can’t stomach tipping 20% for that kind of “service” and I don’t need proper one.

Thanks! Also thanks to the pp who suggested it. I don’t mind standing in line and it will be a Friday so hopefully not too bad

Oh man I sent my DH to get me two sets of sushi there right after I gave birth haha! Memories!

If they have small tables at The Tombs, I always liked that place.

I used to frequent Dean and Deluca, haven’t been to Georgetown in years, where do I eat now? Has to be casual, preferably no sit down service, but it’s ok if truly casual. Somewhere I won’t stand out eating alone and where it won’t take forever. Like idk a deli?
Thanks for all your recs!
