My 10 year old does often drink protein shakes before or after sports practices. But he is a big kid and doesn't need to gain weight. He is just hungry and its easy quick calories.
Op here - oldest is a girl. She is about 4’8” tall give or take.
There it is. She couldn’t be more average for height and weight. They match perfectly. Sometimes prepubescent bodies look weird or have skinny long limbs. There’s no problem

My two older kids (11 and 9 years old) have 3 days of practices and one game a week. They do not keep weight on well and the older one has started losing weight.
They love their sports and I don’t want them to quit. Do I try and do things like protein shakes? Oldest one only weighs 76 pounds and younger one weighs 70 pounds.
You don’t put their height down so the weights aren’t helpful on their own. You didn’t put the sports which also matter. Ice hockey will burn a ton of calories, others not so much at their ages.
