I want to pull out this post because it is so indicative of the problems with this board, and some of the folks on it.
As others have pointed out, these are longstanding programs that you typically cannot enter until 10th or 11th grades. They are things like the law enforcement or architecture half-day programs at Edison, which you cannot even apply to coming out of 8th grade.
But this PP posts an incendiary and uninformed message that aims to tear down the relationship between the schools and families. Are they ignorant? Are they trolling? Do they potentially represent an interest group that would benefit from damaging trust in public schools?
It's worth asking yourself these questions when reading DCUM, and particularly the sections of this website that deal with public schools.

Why are you confused? The new regional programs were never supposed to start this year or next. This is just the status quo.
