The jersey for the kid, husband’s favorite team. Those things are expensive for the short time that kids wear them, so they’re nice to get as a gift.

Get it from Target or somewhere easy with a gift receipt.

I like the truck idea.

I have a 2.5 foot Indominus Rex around from a 1st grade party. Hard to give up, hard to give away.

A musical toy like an electronic keyboard can be fun.

I was invited to an acquaintance child’s party. She said to get whatever I wanted to when asked what he likes. Looking back - I never stuck to necessarily age appropriate toys so mine based on memory and photos when they turned two years old were playing with the gigantic tonka trucks, the large Jurassic park dinosaur that eats, interactive alive animal toys, etc.. toys for kids a little older than they were but fun enough.

Her husband is heavily into athletic pursuits like fishing, canoeing, football (huge NFL fans). He’s the only boy and youngest child so I was leaning toward something “sporty” gift wise .

I was thinking of a little hand held football or ball - my kids liked carrying toys and things around but I know not every child does.
