You’ll have a great time. Agree with the poster that said stay at a hotel with bomb shelters on every floor (which is any new hotel). Otherwise you will feel safe. Make sure to check out the beach and restaurants.

Forgot to add: you may be asked to surrender your phone and laptop. Assume they will download its contents before returning it to you, about two minutes before your flight leaves. What a wonderful place!

Is your family origin Arab or Muslim? I’ve traveled to Israel before on business but I wouldn’t go now. They are waging a genocide and claiming it’s necessary for their own security, so why put your own safety at risk. Do a Teams call if you must deal with them at all.

I think this is the best advice.


+1. Just know where shelters are on the very unlikely chance you’d need them. And enjoy Tel Aviv - it’s a world class city. If you have time, do a side trip to Jerusalem, a bit more than an hour away. No matter your religion, the history is fascinating and who knows when or if you’ll be back.

Don't take public transportation like buses. Don't go to places like markets with crowds of people. Know where the shelters are if sirens go off.

This would be the first time for me and would be for business. The state department warnings are concerning of course but I may have to go. Do folks have any advice on staying safe.
