I have a biopsy schedule for Monday. Going through this now. Good times.

I am optimistic that it won’t be cancer. I went through something similar recently and even though it was a low chance, the waiting is SO difficult.

Sending you a hug.

You are a great parent and you are doing everything right. Just be gentle on yourself.

The waiting is the worst. If you need them, there are meditations available online to help calm your mind. BetterSleep is a good app if you’re prone to ruminating before bedtime. Hugs!

Depending when your results are expected maybe tell them about the friend if it's something they need to know and there's time to process that. Or if you find out it's cancer soon, wait on the friend info?
Is the friend somebody they see frequently?

They don't see them frequently. Thank you for the ideas. I'll consider these! I'm going to wait until I get my news and then see what's what.

Good luck! It's never a good time to have cancer.

I'm sorry - hang in there. Cancer sucks but the best thing that can be said about a diagnosis is that once you know, you can act. It's always better to know.

I know a lot of people are going through this experience now and/or have done so in the past.

I'm keeping busy but then--BAM!--I think, "I might have cancer." Adding to this that I found out a very good friend DOES have cancer and started chemo this week.

My elderly parent is not doing well so that's on my mind.

If I have cancer, I will then have to tell my children that our family friend AND I both have it, and there will be a lot of crying.

I was going to ask for advice but I already know to keep busy and try not to think about it, so I'd appreciate any kind words you have to share.
