95+% of non-“tenured” head coaches job hop, sometimes as often as annually. Swimming is just like any other sport in this regard. Look at any football coaches résumé aside from Nick Saban.

My swimmer is at a top D3 academic and swim team- he is a senior and they are on their 3rd assistant coach. First one got a head coach position, second one got a job at a d1 school, current one is young and will probably leave in a year or two. They are not well paid and there is a lot of turnover. I wouldn’t be concerned.

Turnover will always be in any sport, especially with assistants. After House, the fact these coach’s are often paid less than club coaches, and Princeton is a steeping stone to go to bigger programs this should be expected. At the end of the day you go to a school because of the school not because of the swimming. The exception of this for the top one percent.

Why so mean? I’m looking for facts bc I don’t know how quick turnover is. Feels like other programs don’t have turnover this fast but I don’t know - speaks to the culture of the team

That can’t be a good sign right? I’m honestly just curious- obviously they have a lot of talent on the team, esp for an Ivy
