Agree with PP about Dumbarton Oaks.

The basilica near/at Catholic University.

And Saint John Paul II National shrine next to the Basilica.
I am not Catholic but they both are worth a visit IMO.

Lots of areas of Rock Creek Park to explore
Professional Ultimate Frisbee at Carlini Field (Catholic U campus)
Embassy events
Dumbarton Oaks
Franciscan Monastery gardens
MLK library and some of the other newer DC public libraries, esp. to see exhibits and events
Somewhere Crush Funk Brass Band is performing
Washington Spirit game at Audi Field
Smithsonian Folklife Festival
