What's the school's SES? It's usually the 85th percentile "locally normed", i.e. the top 15% of scorers in each of 5 SES groups. Varies from year to year but here are some numbers from a few years back-- varied from 228/national 92nd percentile at the lowest FARMS schools to 213/national 70th percentile at the highest FARMS schools. Might be a little higher because there's probably some pandemic-related learning loss reflected in those 2022 numbers, but likely somewhere in the same ballpark.

OP - Was well in the 250s in the spring but not this time. Not really sure why. Well maybe it will still be high enough

It's pretty low. We heard 230s?
In DC's year which was not lottery kids getting in were in the 250s-260s.

We are sort of mid FARMS I guess. Is there any way to get a sense of what kind of score would get them in the lottery?

I know there’s going to be more information on the magnets soon but is it the Fall 5th grade MAP score that they use? My child usually scores very high (has never been below 99th percentile) but came home and told me they totally bombed and their score was much lower than previous scores. I guess there’s nothing to be done but I might try to temper expectations if this one bad score is going to make them ineligible.
