Sorry you voted for Trump and Elon Musk. Your taxpayer funds are going to be going to a lot of stupid things in the next few years.

Also, the government didn't benefit at all. The fork busted budgets and morale by keeping people on payroll without making them do any work.

Yes grating paid still. The broader circumstances around DOGE are horrible but the Dem TP that the ppl taking the fork wouldn't get paid (and the union lawsuit to stop the fork!) were really misguided.

Feds are facing terrible choices and they should have the option to make whatever decisions are personally best for them.

They got paid and then got an extra $50k to go over to ICE.

OMG yes it is a scam

Anyone who thinks they are getting a government pension after 2026 non elections is a dam fool.

Dictators do not have to keep their word.

Don’t characterize it as a dumb way to reduce costs- it didn’t reduce costs at all. All of these people are still getting paid to this day. Many of them have been hired back after the morons who let them go realized that their jobs are too important. Litigation continues after RIFs. Important institutional knowledge is gone and that will have a cost. Programs have lost almost all of their staff.

And this is important: most of the most ineffective, useless people are still plodding along.

I fail to see how the American people benefitted from any of this nonsense, but I’m glad to hear a former fed was able to come out ahead in this administration.

At my agency we lost some of our most experienced people and I now spend at least 50% of my day training GS-14s to do GS-12 work (as opposed to doing my own regular workload all day). So much efficiency.

Yah. In my friend's estimation, if someone hands you $100k you don't stand around waiting for them to change their mind.

We had managers who got a couple months off, were asked to come back, and asked for full remote work as a condition of their return. And they got it! So they ended up with a free 2 month vacation and a better position than what they started with.

Sooo efficient!!

I am a DC-area resident, but not a Federal employee. I am curious if Feds who "took the Fork" ended up getting to take time off while being paid like the email said? Was it a scam in the end? I hope everyone who had a choice got what they wanted! Wishing everyone the best.
