Yes, but if applicant is a boy and has big / important awards, Brown might work.
Brown deferred the top5 in the class boy who applied as a humanities major from our T20 private this year and only admitted him RD. Yes he was eventually admitted but they didn't jump for him REA (and therefore took the chance at losing him to other schools).
Brown is not a given by any means.
