Other thing about local sod is it’s grown in the same climate so right for your yard.

This. You can call Merrifid and just ask them the cost per sq ft; difference is probably in the amount of prep and the quality of labor.

Call chantilly sod farms and buy a truck load direct with delivery and you’re in the ballpark.
The real expenses are in the prep, adding irrigation, And lay down. That can add another 2-15 per sq ft.
