If it's a charity I would normally support, I would give. Generally they aren't, though.

I’ll buy cookies and I’ll contribute to something like a fund in memory of someone who worked there or something the company is supporting or matching but I don’t do the random asks like that.

I have bought Girl Scout cookies a few times, but that is the closest I will come to giving money to anyone at work.

How do you handle? Ignore? Donate an obligatory 25 bucks? Or something else?

One co worker sends her requests around but couches it in language that makes it sound like you are being invited into an exclusive club. The first time she sent it to me, I thought I was being invited to a party or something (which would still of course be a fundraiser) and then got to her last sentence to find it was a link to give money.

I am not saying the charities are not worthy, but I find that most people have their own pet causes
