YOur credit card will cover you if they go under before your flight.. but then you're stuck trying to find a new flight last minute.

I wouldn't risk booking anything with them right now. Seems unlikely they will last deep into the winter. Frontier and United both announced they are adding routes on Spirit routes, basically to bleed them dry (and be ready for their passengers when they go under)
