Mine is bad and starts evening before I even get into bed. Pramipaxole is the only thing that has worked for me.

Yes I have heard that a lack of iron could be a factor.


There's also an association between restless leg syndrome and sleep apnea. Consider a fitness tracker device that can measure sleep quality.

Magnesium supplements and epsom baths help. Interesting re: the iron as I had low ferritin and have recently worked to bring that up. RLS is less pronounced.

This is a common side effect of Zoloft.
I would change the dosage or possibly switch to another non-SSRI medication.

And I would take some iron vitamins close to bedtime too.

Dopamine is a huge factor in restless leg syndrome with iron deficiency a close second.

I take a single Tylenol before bed and it helps a lot to keep it from acting up.

When I get restless leg, I take iron. Goes away!

If you take Benadryl or Melatonin, you should stop as they made it so much worse for me.

As I have gotten older, currently mid-50’s I suffer from Restless Leg Syndrome primarily when lying down in bed.

It has made it difficult -> impossible to sleep and I would like to know if anyone on here has any tips or ideas on how to minimize this w/o possibly seeing a medical professional?

I am tired of losing sleep over this but will see a M.D. but hope only as a last resort.

Any suggestions on what I can do first?
