Subject: Rolling gradebook?
The best advantage of the rolling grade book is that you see the actual grade in real time. Exactly as it is in that particular moment. No guessing, just reality. I used it for three years and loved it.

That's actually not true. I have used both a traditional gradebook and rolling gradebook and they do not average out the same
How different were the averages then? Was it a significant difference?
I did this past two summers,
only a few points. 95% of the gradea are the same.. 3% are + higher, 2% are - lower.

So then why do people say they prefer a traditional gradebook? Also, another advantage of a rolling gradebook is grade replacement and making up tests are easier and there are no hard deadlines than if the gradebook closes for the quarter.

The difference can be as much as a few points. The only way the averages would be the same is if each quarter has the same number of assignments and points, which rarely happens. From what I have seen, the rolling gradebook usually has more of a positive impact than a traditional gradebook.

NP. Psychology is important. The school year is more than just the last day of school; the grade is more than the Gina grade.
The importance of each grade decreases the more grades you add in a rolling gradebook. So the poor grade in quarter 1 doesn’t have as big as an impact. I like it.
