In percentage terms, only UNC and Michigan are tougher admits than UVA. Wisconsin and Maryland both have admit rates in the 20s, which is tough but not UVA tough.
The PA schools (Pitt and Penn State) are easy admits, taking well over half their applicants. They’re basically JMU level. The other OOS flagships fall somewhere in between all of this.

UVA is head shoulders over UNC and Wisconsin. Michigan depends on major.

Actually, no. I’m in Arlington. Kid is at UVA. I’ll correct that Wisconsin may not be tougher than UVA. UNC and Michigan are.
