Coastal Carolina has some decent sports.
How about Univ Dayton? No football, but rah rah for the volleyball and basketball. Might even get a little merit there.

Why on earth would anyone send their child to WVU? Are you trying to find the crappiest state university in the country?

Is the 3.2 weighted? I hear great things about Delaware but I don’t know about admissions. You should be using your school’s tools like Scoir or Naviance to see what you need to be admitted. I’d go back to the drawing board and replace WVU. I second the suggestion to look at ASU. My friend had a child that really liked it there.

Oh. This random person's cousin's daughter didn't like WVU, so your child is likely to dislike it, too. LOL!!!

WVU is a mess. They are managing decline and it's going down fast. I wouldn't go anywhere near it.

Everyone i know who has gone to Delaware, has looked it and been successful. They have some great preprofessional programs. And the vibe of the school feels more like a top private university than a state school.

WVU is desperate for warm bodies with enrollment dropping over 35% in the last ten years. These stats above are meaningless. They accept essentially everyone.

Michigan State. SUNY Cortland has strong sports science. If you're open to Jesuit, look at St Joe's in Philly.

East Carolina University might foot the bill.

We toured WVU and the way the campus is spread out was a real turn off as was the completely depressed downtown Morgantown. The weird people mover rail system was kinda nifty though.

Appalachian State in NC? Feels kind of like an JMU

Depending on how popular those majors are at UDel, I think that could be more of a reach.

Search on this forum for the threads mentioning the “awesomely average” college student group on fb. Lots,of ideas for schools.

Here’s one: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1288088.page#30623220

I think WVU will be an easier admit than Delaware. How about Kentucky, Miss State, Indiana, ASU, Arizona? Cast a wide net.

DD is interested in going to a school with a big sport spirit but doesn't have the grades for UVA, Tech, JMU etc. She's a typical NOVA kid (sporty, preppy, not artsy). She enjoys small towns and outdoor recreation. We are left leaning but not political. She is interested in studying things like sport science, physical therapy etc. Is Univ of Delaware possible for someone with a 3.2 GPA?
Which school would be the better fit?
