Can you give some examples? I mean I think it's pretty normal to want to talk about your work and have your partner act interested. DH and I talk about our days/work and I'd be pretty annoyed if he acted like he had zero interest in a major part of my life.

We've always been a sounding board for each other. We may not completely understand each other's careers, but we always listen and give advice when we can.

We always and easily pick up things when schedules have to be adjusted. My work schedule is hectic the next 2 weeks and DH rearranged his schedule so he can take DS to his after school activities (normally I'm home from work at that time). It wasn't even much of a discussion, DH just asked which days I was working late on and that was that.

We've been supportive of job changes. We encourage each other to take time off to give ourselves a mental break.

Mostly we just have a deep respect for each other.

How do you show support for each others careers? Or do you handle it on your own?
