It’s a scam don’t waste your time

Just upload your resume in PDF. Please do not use the USA Jobs format. The template makes the resume way too long and it doesn’t come out cleanly. We would routinely skip over the resumes created with the template because they were too long and difficult to read. I’m so glad to hear they made changes.

I used the USA Jobs format just because it was easier to get all the required information in there (for me). I have gotten 3 federal jobs using it. I think it was around 3 pages, so I will have to check if I can cut it down (not that I am planning to apply anytime soon.)

Now I also uploaded my PDF resume, not USAJOBS built resume. I am not sure which portion is more important in resume.

Work Experience: now around 60% of page, no more than 4 lines for each agency I work for. It used to be more than 2 pages with detailed job description. This is the main portion I remove from USAJOBS resume.

Skills: 3 lines, only with keywords, rewritten from original half page of USAJOBS Additional Information portion.

Education/Job Related Training(Certificates): 3/4 page.

Professional organization and affiliations(professional related): I don't have active membership anymore, do I still need to keep it in my resume.

Availability portion in USAJOBS resume: completely removed.

So, is the 2 page resume now universal across the Federal Government? This would be a big change.

I always uploaded my own.

Uploaded resume. When my office is hiring, we get a set of PDFs of every resume (and cover letter, if they’ve written one), jammed together in a huge document. The bold/italic/indented formatting was much easier to read.

Plus, there’s now an edict that resumes can’t be more than 2 pages, and I don’t know how you’d measure this in the USAJobs resume.
