We are staying at the Hyatt Regency Time Square this weekend. We were able to get a good deal because it is still partially under construction. Only recently reopened. But we have had no issues. If you like being right in Time Square, I would recommend it- especially if you can still get a good price.

If you want perfectly fine but not extravagant, we just stayed at the Springhill Suites on 37th between 5th and 6th Avenues. The room had two queen beds and ours faced the street and we could see the top half of the Empire State Building- which was unexpected. They have a regular Springhill Suites kind of breakfast, but there was. The beds were comfortable. They have the stupid smoked glass door for the bathroom, which is weird and annoying.

Paris Baguette on the 6th avenue corner that was nice if you want a nicer quick breakfast. You can walk to Penn Station and Grand Central as well as Times Square. It is a few blocks up to Bryant Park - which is nice. There is a Whole Foods and a Pret a Manger at Bryant Park. It’s near the shopping on 5th Avenue and if you are walkers you can walk easily to Central Park. We thought it was well situated.

I don’t know how it compares to others but have really enjoyed Marriott marquis near Times Square. Our room was huge and well appointed , location was convenient for Broadway shows , easy to eat on site when we were short on time

DP. If you stay in one of the family suites, you get access to the executive lounge. Those rooms have a separate sitting area, which makes it nice to spread out and relax after a long day.

We got connecting rooms with Empire State Building views at Westin Times Square, which was quite nice. Rooms are not huge, but the view was really nice. Walking distance to most things.

If you have status with Marriott, you also get some tourist attractions comped or discounted (One World Tower, boat ride to see Statue of Liberty).

Kimpton Eventi near MSG and Penn Station is nice enough and well located. If you get a good deal with points. it’s amazing.

We had a nice stay in May at the Hyatt Centric Times Square on W. 45th Street in May. Great location, nice hotel.

Park Hyatt

Marriott’s are gross in NYC no matter what price point Hiltons too, especially any on the West side between 7 th and 10 th or 5 th and 6 th heading east

Hyatt is better new regency opened around 47 th I’d stay there

We stayed at Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson spring break this year, using card points. It has good NYC view and right next to path station ( one stop to nyc, then you can connect to nyc subway) and parking. We didn’t want to drive into nyc. We plan to stay at Hyatt House Jersey City next time we go, it’s only a block away from path station.

We recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott New York Manhattan/Midtown West near Hudson Yards and it was one of the more spacious rooms I've stayed in in NYC. It was DH and I and two teen boys and it didn't feel cramped. A bit of a walk from Times Square but we were ok with that. And super close to Penn Station if you are taking the train.

Upscale, centrally located. 4 people. Doesn’t have to be the highest luxury but want a nice hotel in a convenient location.
