Why? Free wifi all over campus and computers to use in the library.

If reception is terrible, the WiFi backup isn't going to work well either.

My kid is a grad student and is in an apartment with unreliable internet provided as part of his lease. His options for getting a different ISP entirely are limited, but Verizon has a backup plan that would give him 7 days of service a month when the building's provider craps out.

Do any of you have this? I was going to just get him more data on his cell phone so he could use it as a hotspot, but evidently reception is also terrible
