I thought you are talking about me. I'm always home or coming or going somewhere.
Market has been great the last 5 years. This 10% a year has not applied.

What company has 25-35 vacation days (or does that include sick days, ie PTO — though 35 is still unusual!)

PE funds right here at DC. VPs and above get 30 days, I am below VP at 25 days, and if you are here for more than 5 years you get another week off.

I have 20 days which I don't even think is that generous (my prior employer was better on this front!) Plus rollover from the prior year sometimes...

I don't usually work on vacation bc I have young kids but know plenty of people who travel and do some telework part of the time so it's not as many days off.

There's also lots of federal holidays etc that help with 3day weekends - we do a lot of weekend trips.

also work trips blended with personal trips.

I have to go overseas for 3 days of meetings; so I am taking personal time during a layover; weekends are mine while I'm there (company paying for the hotel) and then I take a personal day when I return.

I also get up at 4 am to work so leaving at 3 pm is not unheard of (rarely happens) but I work my butt off to be "done" with work by noon.

My European counterparts have easily taken 25 days off so far this year alone. often in 15 business day chunks in summer. I think it's wonderful and you should MYOB.

My company has relatively generous leave. It’s pretty easy to negotiate for four weeks upon hire if you are senior and after 10 years you get 5. We get all the federal holidays as well and can float them to use them whenever we want. It’s also okay to take off Friday afternoons if you make up the hours and you can otherwise flex time or work remotely. I work a lot (early mornings, some evening, weekends, on some family trips) but do a ton of personal travel too. One of my senior colleagues spends at least a third of her time working from out of state. The flexibility is one of the reasons I work here.

After 2 years?

Go ask them OP, your neighbors will give you quite the wake up call when they inform you that they are simply better than you. Why else would their employer give them such flexibility while you dream of leaving your couch?

Maybe they have an unlimited leave policy or they work from them beach. I can be a nosy person too. What I do it some up with the range of possible options, satisfy myself that it's any one of those, and then let it go, because, really, what does it matter?

Why don’t you ask them?
