Alternatively - you could always just buy a new cable on Amazon for $12 in the unlikely event that you need it.

For me, having one box like this doesn’t trouble me. But realizing I lost the cord to my kid’s piano style keyboard or whatever gadget..and now I get to spend $25 on Amazon for a specialized cord that might not work…..is much more annoying

If you want to take it a step further, think about the minor appliances that you use a few times a year that also need cords (drills, photo printer, etc) and make sure they have cords too. Everything else… throw away.
If you find you really need something in the future, post a note to your neighborhood group and I guarantee you that you will absolutely make some dad’s day when he is able to come up with whatever random cord you need.

My DH insists we need to keep them because they obviously go with something, and older cords/cables are hard to find/expensive. I guarantee every one of these cords has been in the storage bin I found them in since at least 2020, if not before that. If we haven’t needed them in almost six years, why do we need to move them to our new place?
What would you do?
