This is a very stupid way to think. You have to be able to distinguish between what you would WANT to know and what's worth overriding your kid's decision not to tell you.

You are not in your right mind, why would you even contemplate that? It’s not even information you are certain of. The child of the first friend became aware of the girl having a girlfriend. It’s not known how, if it’s hearsay, what it means, if it’s serious, if a romantic relationship etc. She tells her mom. Her mom tells you. Now you want to take that to the other mom.

Gossiping is disgusting in general, gossiping about children and teens is even more so. If I’m the girl’s parent I’d be very annoyed you brought that up.

I would want to know if my child was in a relationship. However, I also had someone who I thought was a friend lose their mind when they found out their daughter was a lesbian. And in general, unless the situation is unsafe or otherwise warrants someone needing to know, I'm against outing anyone.

No. It would not be my business. Parents are either trusted by their kids or they are not.

You should not be the one to out this child if the relationship has not been disclosed. You also only have gossip as evidence. And high school relationships can be short. It might be over by the time you had a chance to mention it.

Are both kids around the same age? As long as it's not like "the art teacher is my girlfriend" I'd absolutely stay out of it.
