I don’t think this means the teacher cannot assign more books. This is just the content of the curriculum and not a floor that cannot be deviated from.


I know at Deal Middle School they are not assigning any more books than the one book per year.

Are the 6-8 texts even full novels? It looks like students will only reference particular pages in each unit.

lol, it doesn't matter because college is also lowering reading/writing expectations due to lack of focus brought on by (presumably) increased smartphones/social media exposure.

Can someone tell me more about the new ELA curriculum dcps is using for middle school? It’s called CommonLit 360. I’ve heard the number of books read during the year will be reduced from 4 to 1.
Does anyone have any insight?
