What you all need to do is see how many commits actually play their freshman year at P4 schools. Many hardly even get rostered for games. Many of them then go into severe depression because no playing time, hard practices, etc but so many parents just push soccer their entire youth and don’t worry about education.

So many parents here are 100% clueless. If your kid isn’t a USYNT member, it’s an uphill climb at P4. Let’s take Tennessee for example. I think they are up to 8 ‘27 commits. I would wage heavily, maybe 2 or 3 will see playing time freshman year. But hey, at least those other 6 can brag that they participate in practice meanwhile their teammate is getting Freshman of the week at ODU who turned down that partial P4 2 years earlier.

But if your DD is in it for an education as a priority, I take no issue with that decision. Unfortunately being around for so many years I know that is not the case.

The goal post moving on here is incredible lmao

Nobody plays in a respectable league or for a respectable club that will even get them to college. If they DO get to college its all favors and politics, and they won't last to their sophomore year. If they sign with a professional team they still suck and won't last.

Also need to look at 2008 commits. 30- 40% are 2027s

Bethesda had a Tenn commit today, VDA had a ND commit today, they are still coming in. There is a VDA skipping senior year to go to FSU in a year.

It’s still August but seems like fewer announcements than in prior years and really only one local club seems to be doing well, which is surprising. More schools relying on transfers? More international players? 28 roster cap? Class of 2029 in DMV not strong? What’s the deal?

I don't know that I would say that - maybe I'm not paying specific attention to the clubs, but there seems to be a ton of announcements being made. It also is much, much quicker than has happened in the past. I'm wondering what the point of the showcases will be for a lot of these teams other than getting to match up against some different competition. Certainly won't be for recruiting exposure if they are all committed. DD's club has 15 players that are 2027s and there are only two that haven't announced commitments. One is deciding this weekend and another is on her final official visit this weekend. Crazy fast.

Adding to my post - while not for exposure, the showcases will also give the coaches a chance to watch their committed players to see how they are progressing as well as start recruiting for 2028s.

Tall and fast remains early priority for P4 Schools. VDA has almost 10 commits already with another Notre Dame announced this morning. Union has two or three. Arlington I think has one. Bethesda has 4 or more, MD United has at least 2, Pipeline has at least 3. GA teams are struggling for commits.

With new roster limits, possible 5-year eligibility, and transfer portal, less and less spots available. Should be noted ‘27 is on record pace nationwide.

Good luck!
