That’s insane. Every single adult in my family is a normal weight. About half my neighbors are too — though I have no idea if they take medication or not. Almost all my friends are a normal weight. It’s really not hard.

So you won the genetic lottery in terms of metabolism and have self segregated towards others who are either similarly naturally thin or can afford intervention.

Sadly you seem to lack the mental capacity to realize that your personal experiences aren’t necessarily reflective others’ realities….it seems we all have our shortcomings.

It’s for the haves to get thin and avoid diabetes/excess weight/pressure on joints.

And the have-nots to suffer being subject to normal grocery stores where we can hardly resist the marketing of Cheetos, sodas, candy, sugar cereal, ice cream, etc. Even healthier options are expensive. It’s hard to feed a whole family with ideal foods, working and cooking yourself.

So the haves that are already insulated from this marketing more, can avoid stores with end -caps calling out to them, can pay their chefs to cook nutritious foods…. They are able to also change their brain and stomach to get thin, easily, pay to play.

I’m not mad at Serena. I’m mad at corporations.

I won’t even take a new set of family pictures until I lose weight. The last photos were 3 years ago. I won’t do it. I’m the same or worse. I can’t document myself as I am right now.

Are you built like she is? Very curvy with a bigger bust, butt, and thighs? That's a tricky body type as you enter menopause because if you add any weight around your middle (as most women do in menopause), you lose your shape entirely. It's just the reality of that body type.

I would also remind yourself that Serena Williams is in the public eye at a very high level, and that she is surrounded by celebrities and the very wealthy. There's way more pressure on her to be thin. She probably gets feedback from stylists, designers, editors, and media people about her size and shape. Whereas in your life, I bet you are the only person who gives a rat's ass about those 10-15 lbs.
