Subject: MLS Next Academy Division (MLS 2)
How did all these new MLS and MLS2 clubs have badges already? Club who have been in the MLS league since inception don't have any for their new players and uniforms.

Our club just joined this new Academy level. We were previously E64 and our best players typically left for MLSN 1 teams because that's just how it worked. The Academy level appears to provide more opportunities for advancement and exposure than E64 and just maybe we'll hang on to our talent a bit longer. If that how it works, it's not chasing a badge, it's doing right by your players by giving them a better opportunity.
No its badge chasing when you complaint that MLSN2 have same badge. Also there is also a difference between an Academy level team vs a team that is in MLSNext. And yea same badge. The vast majority of the players end up in same place.. not playing or D2/D3

Unfortunately, a terrible dilution problem MLSN has on their hands due to their decision making and marketing approach. None of the 2 teams are using the 2 and are being presented and grouped as if as 1 teams- patch, flex and all.
1 teams have to be wondering wtf is Next doing besides having a money grab with a bunch of teams that are EDP, NCL, NAL et. At this point, you've got all these mid tier teams riding side saddle to the 1st team opportunities and brand--and getting away with it.
MLS should have done better to preseve things for their 1st teams. Just wait until college recriuting comes along...guarantee none of those players uses the '2' when talking to colleges. Smart of the players, but a problem for MLSN brand.
