For T10, I don't think it's so much about undersubscribed majors as it is making your application stand out. AOs are looking at hundreds of applications with science research and other STEM awards. Very difficult to pop.

What about T11-30?
Vanderbilt? UVA? Wake?

This. You won't declare a major until second semester sophomore year; they don't admit by major. But they still want to admit a class with a range of interests.

Yes, there are under subscribed majors at Top 25 schools. Years ago, Princeton's classics dept.was struggling. My understanding is that a clear & demonstrated interests in classics helped otherwise qualified applicants gain an offer of admission.

Two equal applicants. One is female and psychology and the other is female and women’s studies. Equal amount of leadership and accolades.

I think they go with the applicant whose major only has four graduates a year.

Does the major matter if in private university’s college of arts & sciences?
Impacted major (psychology, economics) vs undersubscribed (classics, ethic studies)?

Assuming transcript and ECs support the major choice?

All things equal, are some majors easier for admissions purposes ?
