Yes that’s right-and how ridiculous it is that a single MAP R or MAP M test largely determines admission to a high school program. It’s not even a test of cognitive ability-it’s a test of exposure (one reason to push your kid to do Algebra in 6th grade.)
If your kid is so smart, they can learn algebra well enough in 7th grade the first time they see it, and don't need to take it 6th.
7th/8th grade MAP will be higher for kids with early exposure to Algebra in 6th grade.
