Note that Vandy and WashU are going in a different political direction away from the Ivies as noted on another thread here today. May or may not matter to an applicant.

It doesn't matter.
What matters is that they put Penn and Columbia in the same bucket as H!

If your kid falls in love with a reach school, what is a more attainable school that is similar in some way. It can be specific or just a general vibe.

I’ll start with two of my opinions after a bunch of research and visits. Looking forward to others’ observations!

USC undergraduate business: Loyola Marymount University undergraduate business

William & Mary: Franklin & Marshall

This IS fun.

I think this exercise only works if there’s a ceiling / floor. So a sub-5% school matched with a 25%+ school, or a sub-20% school paired with a 50%+ school. I think OP was going in the right direction and then people were like “maybe Amherst lol?”

Aren't they all super reach? On steroid?

Big difference in early admit rate for Stanford and Northwestern (and definitely Michigan).

no, NU, HM and Mich are matches for top of the class kids at our private, with about 30-50% acceptance if in the top 5% and top rigor. CCO had data. Proved to be correct.
