I would think there is still a chance you can find a team because HS age rosters can be large. Could give you recommendations where do look if you can say where you live in general

My kid was on the bubble so the coach put off making the decision on him until the end of the season. More than once during this process, I talked to the coach and expressed concern for having a team this fall. He assured me that we didn't need a plan B because there is always lots of movement on teams so waiting on a decision would not disadvantage him. His first team referral took over a month to respond and now just told us that they don't have a spot. All the websites I've looked at indicate that tryouts were in the spring. Anyway, I feel so naive at this point and like I really let my kid down. Is it worth it to try to find a coach with an open spot? My kid just wants to be kicking a ball this fall and I'm not sure where to begin.
