You will be shocked at the number of girls at attendance. It will become apparent quickly, at many, that tryouts are a formality and teams are already formed.
They are separated after minutes or onto courts. The coaches only look at the top court. Sometimes they are separated by court at sign in, without any initial drills at all.
This is why it is so important to attend clinics before tryouts. Sometimes they give out offers for invite only clinics and then there is a better chance your daughter will get an offer at a tryout.
Even still, some team with hundreds of girls will have additional tryouts after all of them are over. Maybe they didn’t give out enough. Maybe everyone turned them down and their alternates accepted other teams. My daughter didn’t get any initial offers and went to one of these last chance tryouts and that’s how she got a spot last year.
