lol I was wondering the same thing. Mine have been outside until after 8pm the whole summer. The evenings are the nicest part of summer - too sunny and humid to be outside playing during the day!

9:30 for my 3rd and 5th graders. Our school doesn’t start until 9:20 though.

My kids also kept 7pm bedtime in summer at that age. If we were on vacation we’d let it slide a lot later but we would leave for camps at 7:30 same as we would for school. They spent most weeks at an outdoor camp until 4:30 or so

Yes and no. People can get too reliant on a very specific and consistent routine, and the kids turns into a disaster when everything isn't perfectly in place. Gotta instill some resilience in kids too.

My 3rd, 5th, 6th graders will be in bed around 8. 6th grader can read until 845 and lights out by 9.

The prep starts 12 hours before they step out of the house.
So, if they have to leave home at 7 am -- dinner is at 6 pm, shower + brushing is over by 8 pm, then they are in the bed reading till 9 pm, lights off at 9 pm. Wake up at 6 am, step out of the home by 7 am.

Apologies - my kids will wake around 7:30 am, need be out the door by 8:30.
