They treat adjuncts terribly.

At GW, I was paid $2k per course when the students pay $50K a year in tuition. This was a long time ago but still. I was not paid for time spent meeting with students, etc.

I agree that they probably offered it to more than one person. Likely the first choice fell through last minute and then they offered it to a few backups to see who had availability. Crappy way to handle it

They only sent me the email offering me the course on Friday at noon and it had all the information in it about class times, dates etc. I answered within an hour. Doesn't seem like circumstances would change so quickly and even if they did, why not answer my email and let me know. No response is just strange.

I do want it as it fits nicely in my schedule and is a course I have taught before so less prep.

Op - I sent a follow up email last night and also left a voice message on her work phone a couple hours ago and nothing - crickets. She had proposed 10:00 this morning to meet. So bizarre.

I’d wait until Monday morning, and if no response, I would follow up.

I had applied in May to teach a college course that starts the first week of September. Didn't hear back until today when it was offered to me via email and asked me to reply urgently given the short time frame. The email offered times for a virtual meeting on Monday morning to finalize details. I replied almost immediately and said I was available, provided my preferred time, and then there was no response today. I don't have the time confirmed or a link to a virtual meeting and its now the weekend. Should I just wait until Monday am and then follow up?
