August 14 Governor Newsom alongside state and legislative leaders and advocates representing CA, introduces a state constitutional amendment to enable California voters the opportunity to fight back against Trump’s attempted power grab in Texas.

The Election Rigging Response Act — will go before California voters this November. The key provisions are:
1. Retains California’s Citizens Redistricting Commission and declares state policy supporting the use of fair, nonpartisan redistricting commissions nationwide.
2. Temporarily adopts new California congressional districts for use in congressional elections through 2030.
3. Preserves California’s current congressional maps only if Texas or other states also keep their original maps.
