For what it’s worth we have several children who are trans at my school and they’re welcome to use the adult single bathroom if they choose (that has its own issues, but it’s not a big deal, generally none of them take the offer)

So which bathroom do they use? Are all children allowed to use the single adult bathroom?

Wait? NCAA has tracked back but APS and FCPS haven’t?

“The school division policies allow students of the opposite sex access to sex-separated facilities. They also allow students of the opposite sex to participate in sex-separated sports.“

I guess I’ll start looking at single sex private schools for high school. I thought we realized that very few people want this, and it’s unfair to women.

OP here
Wow! That's a lot! Thank you.

Federal funding - which is all that is at issue, not state - is far, far less than this. It's 2.8% in APS.

Have you met Youngkin??

That is a lot of money. Fortunately, we have public records to identify who voted in Republican primaries and who donated to Republican causes. Their kids can bear the brunt of the budget cuts. Don’t like it? Sue!

This issue is probably another political loser ahead of the election this fall.

OP here.
I heard/read somewhere that the 5 districts had agreed to unify on this issue, so I expect the same from Fairfax and Prince William.

Why would they lose state funding too?

https://northernvirginiamag.com/news/2025/07/28/5-nova-school-districts-have-been-issued-title-ix-violations/

The above article is from a couple weeks ago. I know that Loudoun has already announced they will not comply.
So now they will lose state and federal funding? How much--like what percentage of their total budget would that be? Would it affect this year's budget, or have they already received those funds and are now looking ahead to future years? If it's a significant amount, how will they make up for that?
