I think most of us lawyers are bit behind because we lost 3 years of investing in our twenties to law school. The difference between maxing out at 22 and 25/26 is actually quite big when you factor in compoud interest.
I was lucky that my parents advised me to max out my 401k when I started my first job. It was a big leg up.
